Did God know that satan will betray Him, and if he did, why did he make him the most beautiful angel in all of heaven?
God, Himself confirms that which makes Him superior to any other individual who claims to be God: Isa: 46:9 “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:†God confirms that He may be asked of things to come as the Creator, and as Re-Creator He knows what will happen: Isa. 45:11 “Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.†The major claim the Godhead makes is the following: 1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.†God wishes that the relationship between Him and man, or the relationship between Creator and created will result in the created man will reflect His character of love. Note that God does not force anything, he simply desires for His created beings to portray His characteristic by showing love – they are created with free will to make a choice in this. The ability to choose was also present in the first created beings, the angels. By having the ability to choose means that the choice may be either ‘pro’ God or ‘against’ God. God allows this freedom of choice that in itself becomes proof of our authenticity in loving God who loved us first. 1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.†Looking back, we have evidence that a created being decided to second guess his Maker. He sinned by not adhering to the natural laws of God and caused the whole creation to be in a crisis. Lucifer, this covering cherub acted in opposition to the Creator and started with subtle innuendos to get a third of the heavenly host to buy into his rebellion. Rev. 12:4 “His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.†Rev. 12:7 “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.†God’s law of liberty is reflected by the following example: All life on earth is factually dependent oxygen. and wê produce, as a byproduct, carbon dioxide, and the plants use carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. This is a natural law of freedom but we may choose to ignore this law and willingly stop breathing, become blue and if we persist with this rebellious behavior the final result will be that we will reap what we have sown and will die as a natural consequence of our ignoring God’s law of love. There is no logical way of explaining why one individual in ions past decided that he is wise enough to choose against a loving God. To understand this and explain it with a logical possible reason will give an excuse for this rebellion and a Christian female writer wrote a chapter titled: Why was sin permitted? In the first chapter she wrote: The law of love being the foundation of the government of God, the happiness of all intelligent beings depends upon their perfect accord with its great principles of righteousness. God desires from all His creatures the service of love—service that springs from an appreciation of His character. He takes no pleasure in a forced obedience; and to all, He grants freedom of will, that they may render Him voluntary service. So long as all created beings acknowledged the allegiance of love, there was perfect harmony throughout the universe of God. It was the joy of the heavenly host to fulfill the purpose of their Creator. They delighted in reflecting His glory and showing forth His praise. And while love to God was supreme, love for one another was confiding and unselfish. There was no note of discord to mar the celestial harmonies. But a change came over this happy state. There was one who perverted the freedom that God had granted to His creatures. Sin originated with him who, next to Christ, had been most honored of God and was highest in power and glory among the inhabitants of heaven. Lucifer, “son of the morning,†was first of the covering cherubs, holy and undefiled. He stood in the presence of the great Creator, and the ceaseless beams of glory enshrouding the eternal God rested upon him. “Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering.... Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.†Ezekiel 28:12-15. Little by little Lucifer came to indulge the desire for self-exaltation. The Scripture says, “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness.†Ezekiel 28:17. “Thou hast said in thine heart, ...I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.... I will be like the Most High.†Isaiah 14:13, 14. Though all his glory was from God, this mighty angel came to regard it as pertaining to himself. Not content with his position, though honored above the heavenly host, he ventured to covet homage due alone to the Creator. Instead of seeking to make God supreme in the affections and allegiance of all created beings, it was his endeavor to secure their service and loyalty to himself. And coveting the glory with which the infinite Father had invested His Son, this prince of angels aspired to power that was the prerogative of Christ alone. . PP 34.3-PP 35.2 Two areas of the Bible give us insight into this being’s mind: Isa. 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." The king of Tyre is a type of rebel found in the creature that became Satan. Eze. 28:13 "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." God is not able to act outside of His character and although as we understand God to be: In Western (Christian) thought, God is traditionally described as a being that possesses at least three necessary properties: omniscience (all-knowing), omnipotence (all-powerful), and omnibenevolence (supremely good). In other words, God knows everything, has the power to do anything, and is perfectly good. With the above and the all-knowing as God before it happens as a God of love He had to act within His character of Creator and also did not cheat by avoiding to create Lucifer, no the Godhead had to have love as the basis for the Universe and when he rebelled and also infest Earth with the same virus called sin the Godhead was not taken by surprise, no a GPS was already in place, God’s plan of salvation and one of the Godhead will do the rescue mission: Gen. 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Salvation is available to all but even God as omnipotent is not able to tell the feeble man to love Him, He needs to draw him with His love. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
