Where was Jesus born, and when did He start His work as Saviour?
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.†Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He was born around 4-3 BC. This is unclear because the “BC†and “AD†occurred later and a variety of scriptures are used to bring us to an estimated time of His birth. Luk.2:4 â€Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.†Jesus started His mission when the time was fulfilled when in 27 AD He stood up as a carpenter and went down to Jordan to be baptized. His mission work was done over 3 and 1/2 years, and He was crucified in 31 AD.
