The sealing - Does it also apply to the dead?
The response to this question requires a wide-lens angle. Do you know about the 2300 evenings and day prophecy? Dan. 8:14? “And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.†This is seen as being foreshadowed by “the day of atonement.†This describes the process that Christ started in heaven by taking up His intercessory duty that is anti-typical of the yearly duty performed by the High Priest in the earthly sanctuary. During this process of old, the people of Israel remained in their tents seeking the Lord whilst the high priest cleansed the sanctuary by taking into it the blood of God’s goat symbolically and removing the blood again to place it on the scapegoat that would be taken out to the wilderness. This also symbolises types of Christ and that of Satan. We interpret the antitypical Day of Atonement by calculation as having started in heaven in 1844 and that starts the judging of the saints as found in the Bible. Eze. 9:6 “Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark, and begin at My sanctuary.†So they began with the elders who were before the temple.†1 Pet. 4:17 “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?†It is critical to understand that humankind is now being investigated for judgment. The saved will audit judgment that will have been cast on the unrighteous during the millennium. 1. Cor. 6:3 “Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?†Rev. 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he who has a part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.†We will function as kings and priests as the priests were serving in the sanctuary. Under consideration of the above, and by understanding the ‘sealing’ as having settled into God’s truth intellectually and spiritually so that you cannot be moved from it; this pertains also to those who die. In death, we are unable to change our allegiance. At the time of death, our lot is sealed. The sealing process is specifically for the living who are marked as saints and are part of God’s children. They will be marked as God’s property - made in heaven!
