Son of perdition: Who was he and does he have a twin?
The Bible uses the term “son of perdition “only twice: John 17:12 “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.†Judas was part of the inner circle and by his words and deeds and traitorous kiss he pretended to be the friend and beloved of Jesus. 2 Thess. 2:3-4 “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.†At the end of time, the Antichrist will come, the one who pretends to be Christ’s ambassador, His representative, and best friend. However, he is precisely the one who commits treason, because he wants to be in the place of God – “anti†does not only mean “against†someone or something but also “in the place of†someone or something. There is a power that wears the Triple Crown, who lays claim to the title “Vicarious Christi†and accepts that he is “in the place of God.†No human being is permitted to occupy this position, but the man in white claims it for himself. By all means, follow his pronouncements and behaviour because you will see the fulfillment of prophecy before your very eyes.
