Is the law still binding; specifically with the rules of old Israel?
Any and all laws from God’s are there for man’s benefit. Some elements of the Jewish economy relied on the 'type' and 'antitype.' The major aspects that it foreshadowed the plan of redemption and the role of Jesus as the antitypical sacrificial lamb of God Jesus Christ played. It is important to also understand that there was a moral law given to Moses on Mount Sinai written on blue sapphire stone by the finger of God and placed in the ark. This being the Ten Commandments. The ceremonial law followed by it being verbally given to Moses, and then written by Moses on paper and placed in the side of the ark. During Moses’ 40 days in the presence of God, he also received information on health laws, laws around hygiene, risk of certain foods but also information on the plan of salvation as played out by the visual lessons taught by the Blueprint as portrayed by the tabernacle service. Deut. 31:24 ‘So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book when they were finished, 25that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying: 26“Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there as a witness against you; “ This is what is referred to in Colossians as the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, and nailed to the cross. Col. 2:14 “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. 16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.†It is rather sad that a large percentage of Protestants are presently using this text trying to prove that the moral law was done away with, and that we are under grace alone and that Reconciliation was complete with nothing extra to be needed. It is impossible to try and do away with Stone, written by God’s finger since the real Lamb of God paid the price on the cross to reconcile God to man. The Blueprint teaches us that the plan of Salvation was not completed in 31AD when Jesus died outside the gates of Jerusalem. Here we see type shadow fulfilled in the work of Jesus to save man. All these Jewish feasts give us critical information on what God did on behalf of mankind. The second coming is left as necessary to have the final ‘type’ meeting ‘antitype!’ Jesus was once slain and no repeating of this necessary. Jesus asked us only to be baptized and to partake of His death and resurrection by adhering to the Lord’s Supper. For the Jew to adhere to these ceremonial laws, he also had to travel to Jerusalem every quarter. It is clear that this could not apply to everybody on earth and trying to keep such law will suggest we need to add something to what Jesus has done. There is never any idea supported in the Bible that the moral law, that is the Ten Commandments was of a temporary nature. On the contrary ... Matt. 5:18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.†Rev. 12:17 “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.†Jesus’ followers seem to be commandment keepers. Rev. 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.†Rev. 22:14 “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.†Here obedience to Jesus is reflected by followers doing what is right including the moral law. Rev. 14:4 “These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.†The righteous living at the second coming are the Elijah people and forms the 144 000.
