How many times must you be submerged when being baptizedd ? And why?

The symbolism of baptism is the new birth to become part of the heavenly family and the death of the old man of sin in opposition to God. This needs to happen once and agrees with the information of how Jesus was baptized, supported in the Bible. Matt. 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” There is no suggestion that 3 baptisms for each Person of the Godhead was and is required. We need to remember that God is logical and that symbolism is critical as it says something about the plan of salvation
