Explain Righteousness by faith??
Your question is asking the solution to the sin problem and therefore critical to everyone who is guilty of sin. 1 John 3:4 “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.†The history of Luther adds to our understanding as he tried to adhere to all the rules and restrictions of the church of his day with the Pope as its head. The work-based religion to be saved became obsolete to Luther when he read from the book of Romans. Rom. 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.†Salvation was lost because Adam chose to buy Satan’s appeal to know good and evil by partaking of the tree they were restricted to eat from and this was the only area where the enemy could engage with our first parents. Gen. 2:16 “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.†In His amazing love, God then confirms that an alternative exists, yet the adversary could only give his propaganda at this tree. History confirms Eve’s transgression by debating with the enemy and buying his version of the Creator, but they did not die that very day. Gen. 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.†Within this verse already the whole solution to this enormous crisis is foretold that a second Adam will arrive to be the Facilitator to normalize the image of God. They did not die on that day as they relied on a Substitute. An animal’s blood was shed for this enabled God to clothe them. This served then as confirmation that Christ will die on Calvary, the act of which will enable His robe of Righteousness to cover them. Gen. 3:21 “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.†2 Cor. 5:19 “that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.†After 4000 years of the effects experienced from Eve’s choice and relying on Power from above, Christ came to incarnate as a human. He conquered death on the Cross and showed us the way back to a relationship with our Creator … to receive this atonement. We are since able by the nudging and becoming impressed by sins through the Holy Spirit in order to pray for forgiveness and justification as if the sin had not been committed. The good news is that we may also ask Jesus in prayer to not only forgive us but to create in us a new human heart that would prevent the inclination to duplicate such sin. By His power we then achieve sanctification. Both the last mentioned are separate yet happens simultaneously as we grow together learning to trust our Creator. This Christian walk consists of DAILY Bible study, prayer, and sharing our discoveries with souls longing to be rid of a world of sin. Matt. 5:48 “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.†Phil. 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;†He draws us to Him, He creates the need for repentance, and he supplies the discerning power for sin and to ask for forgiveness.
