Does our diet influence our salvation?
As Christians we do not believe in salvation by diet, we are saved as the Bible teaches us, by undeserved merit as a gift from God for what Jesus has done for us and accepted by faith! There was a specific diet in the Garden of Eden: Gen. 1:29 “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you, it shall be for meat.†Only after the flood were people allowed to consume meat. This interestingly led to a drastic shortening of lifespan to only 120 years. But: The exodus from Egypt is a type of our Exodus from this earth and diet with manna played a role during the 40 years in the wilderness. In Babylon Daniel and his 3 friends chose a diet of vegetables and no wine! John the Baptist, the first prophetic Elijah, lived on locust beans and honey! We as a people are the second prophetic Elijah people and should, therefore, be concerned about our diet that will keep us alert against Satan’s end-time snares as we flee Babylon.
