Is it possible that we as Christians were blinded by our religious beliefs through previous generations that were taught to believe certain traditions
It is possible and actually a reality that Christians of today have been blinded by religious beliefs and traditions taught to generations before us. When we look at the Jews and their traditions at the time of Jesus’ ministry, He (Jesus) addressed the matter in Matthew 15 and Mark 7 while Isaiah prophesied on it in chapter 29. Also when we look for example during the Dark ages and fourteenth century how the Roman church/papacy withheld the Bible from the general population so that only the educated could read and understand Word of God, they were taught in the traditions of the papacy – this gave rise to the Reformation. The point to ponder is this: most Christians accept what the Priest or Pastor preaches during a sermon and don’t bother to affirm what was preached. So to what children are taught – is the material in the lessons confirmed to be Biblical. In every age there were witnesses for God-men who cherished faith in Christ as the only mediator between God and man, who held the Bible as the only rule of life, and who hallowed the true Sabbath. (The Great controversy between God and satan pg 61 par 1). Lastly, meditate on 2 Timothy 3: 14 to 17 with special emphasis on verse 16.
