In the story of 2 Kings 7:1-20, what is the lesson of vs 6?
This is an example of where God was fighting for His people by bringing confusion among the enemy. The Syrians heard a noise which they mistakenly interpreted to be that of the approaching armies of the Hittites and the Egyptians. Similar stories are found in: Judges 7:19–22: Gideon’s 300 men appeared to the Midianites as an overwhelming force 2 Kings 3:22–24: The waters appeared as blood to the Moabites, luring them into Israel’s camp God had promised that He would fight for His people (Ex. 14:13-14; Deut. 20:1-4; 2 Chron. 20:12-17) and this passage is a fulfilment of those promises.
