I feel like spending sometime away from my husband, maybe I could refresh my mind. What does the Bible say about this?
Getting away from your situation for a short time can be healthy, and is not in contravention of your marital vows. This ‘away time’ can be used constructively by each partner to spend in prayer, reading (both spiritual and marital materials), counselling, and reflection. Before proceeding, I would suggest you first spend time in earnest prayer (possibly do a personal week of prayer by getting up early each day). Then speak to your local church pastor or a Christian counsellor about your situation. Thereafter, if things have still not improved, discuss the ‘separation’ plan with your spouse, work out the logistics, and put a time frame to it. After that time has elapsed it is important to move back home, and discuss the way forward. You may have to do go for a number of counselling sessions together as you work on restoring your marriage. Be open to God’s leading, and move ahead based on principle, not feeling. God bless
