Will we grow old in the new heaven and earth?
We have to realise that time is an earthly concept and time started only at creation. Gen. 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.†John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.†God, the Father is also called: Dan. 7:13 “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.†Not surprising as: 1 Tim. 6:14 “that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.†Ps. 41:13 “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.†The Godhead has immortality, from eternity to eternity. Jesus is our High priest not to the Levitical order but to the order of Melchisedech. Heb. 7:3 “without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.†From eternity to eternity! When we are saved at the second coming the following: 1 Cor. 15:53 “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.†We know those who died in Christ will rise first: Rev. 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he who has a part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.†We start eternity with the millennium in heaven. The saved are the righteous dead and the righteous alive at His second coming and will represent every age group. Isa. 11:6 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.†We have to assume that as we eat from the tree of life over time we will all grow to reach the ideal as represented by the first Eden. Adam and Eve are giants as we became over time with effect of sin smaller and smaller apart from the babies present with the return of Jesus. Rev. 22:2 “In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.†We expect over time that all will grow to their full potential physically to possibly the initial standard Adam and Eve. We, over a period of time should grow to our eternal ideal but no clear information is provided in the Bible but we have the following assurance: 1 Cor. 2:9 “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.†Plan to be there and the reality will surprise us.
