What is the way to eternal life?
Joh. 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.†Joh. 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. In Psalms Jesus gives us a hint on the way to God and eternal life: Ps. 77:13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? The sanctuary may very well be an object lesson on how to know God and we find three tangibles to address in the Holy Place, a type of the Christian walk. 1. To the right the table with show bread - two stacks of 6 (6 + 6 = 12) as Jesus being the bread of life. The total of 12 may signify to eat 12 months of the year. It also forms 66 and reflected the 39 OT books plus the 27 NT books that equals 66 … explaining Christ and the plan of salvation. Joh. 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.†Joh. 5: 39 “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.†The Bible contains Jesus in written form and we need to study the Bible to know Him. 2. Next to the veil the altar of incense to be lit morning and evenings as the type of the prayer of the saints in the morning and evenings. This forms our talk with God. 3. To the left of the Holy Place the lampstand and Revelation supports that it symbolizes the 7 churches of the NT. Rev. 1:20 “The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.†We are the Lord’s seven branched candlestick and we need to do the following: Matt. 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.†Therefore as Christians, we should be studying the Bible with the intent to finding Jesus … pray daily as if talking to a friend; the teachings and findings will cause desire within us to want to share it with others. The work required to change us will be done by a power outside of us: Phil. 1: 6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:†The Godhead will supply everything needed for our salvation.
